We are being told to wrap up warm this week, as temperatures are expected to plummet even further, with night time temperatures dipping to as low as -6 Degrees.

Age Action have urged older people them to stay in-doors and in close phone contact with family and friends, with the wintry conditions expected to last until later this week at least.

The mercury's due to hit as low as minus six degrees tomorrow night, and snow's expected in some parts of the country.

Flights Cancelled in the UK and Ireland

The weather has been playing havoc with airports in the UK and Ireland, with heavy snowfall disrupting flights, leaving thousands of travellers delayed or stranded.

Flights have also been cancelled by Aer Lingus and Ryanair this morning. The Aer Lingus flights affected are to and from Cork and Dublin to Milan, Munich, Paris and London Heathrow.

Whilst Ryanair has cancelled some of its flights between Dublin, Knock, Shannon, Derry and London Stansted.

Meanwhile there are amber warnings in place for snow across northern England, the Scottish Borders and eastern Scotland as the cold snap continues there too.

A further ten to twenty centimetres - that's roughly four to eight inches - of snowfall is expected.
