An elderly woman has died in a car crash in County Meath.
Gardaí say it happened on the R148 near Enfield shortly after 2pm yesterday.
The driver of one of the cars, a woman in her 80s, died from her injuries.
The driver of the second car was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí have carried out a forensic examination of the scene and the road has since reopened.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly interested in talking to road users who were travelling in the area at the time and may have camera footage.
The local coroner has been notified and a postmortem will be carried out
