An emergency recall has been issued of a teething toy for babies, due to a 'high risk' of suffocation.
The recall of the 'Mushroom Teether Toy for babies' is being carried out by Amazon.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) says some 40 affected products were sold in Ireland.
It is urging people to discontinue use immediately if purchased or received as a gift.
The affected products were listed on the Amazon website since September 24th 2021.
Consumers should contact Amazon for further details of what to do next.
The CCPC says the recall is being carried out across a number of European countries.
It says this is due to a "serious safety risk, where the mushroom head of the baby soother can flip around creating a very tight suction and cause suffocation of infants, babies and toddlers."
