900 bales of straw are still burning in a blaze at a disused factory in Carlow.
The fire in the building on Dr Cullen Road, near the GAA grounds, broke out at around half four this afternoon and almost a dozen fire engines have been at the scene since.
Gardaí have denied they've ordered an evacuation of the surrounding area.
However nearby residents are being warned to stay indoors, amid fears that asbestos in the factory's roof could become airborne as the smoke spreads.
Those who are not at home are being told they will not be able to return to their houses for the time being.
People are also being advised to bring their pets inside.
No injuries have been reported so far.
