Employment law solicitor Richard Grogan has died after a short illness.
The Dublin solicitor had a distinguished career in employment and personal injury law, launching his own firm in 2009.
Just three weeks ago, he was named Lawyer of the Year at the Irish Law Awards.
He rose to fame in recent years by offering employment law advice to young people on TikTok and Instagram.
The advice was warmly received at a time of much uncertainly for young people as Ireland came out of the COVID-19 pandemic and he quickly became affectionately known for his social media catchphrase: ‘That’s the law and that’s a fact.’
RIP Richard Grogan. He had been unwell for some months but wore his illness with bravery and stoicism. His work in making employment law accessible to the consumer and in the most simple terms will never be forgotten.

This morning, the Law Society said it was "deeply saddened" at the news.
"Richard was a tireless advocate, both in proceedings and in the public arena," it said. "We will miss his energy, humour, and deep commitment to the profession."
"Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time."
I’m very sorry to see this. I always enjoyed taking with Richard and watching his super useful tips on TikTok. As Shane says, he made things so accessible. https://t.co/RQv5Iy5cHH
