Apple's first iPhone will become obsolete this summer, according to documents circulating online.
Six years after it first launched it will be rendered "vintage" in the US and "obsolete" in the rest of the world.
From June 11th the 2G model parts and documentation will no longer be produced which means it cannot be serviced or repaired in Apple Care Centres.
As well as the original iPhone, a large number of other Apple gadgets will be classed as 'obsolete'. These include the 17-inch and 20-inch iMac G5, the late 2005 Mac mini, and the 15-inch and 17-inch versions of the Apple PowerBook G4.
More recent models have come a long way since the introduction of the first considering the 2G model only had a 2 megapixel camera and Apple's latest addition to iPhone family, the iPhone 5, has an 8 mega-pixel camera with improved HDR capabilities.
