Enoch Burke looks set to spend Christmas behind bars after refusing to give an undertaking to stay away from Wilson's Hospital School if he is released.
He has been in prison since September for refusing to abide by an order of the High Court to refrain from trespassing at his former school.
He was dismissed from his teaching role for his response to a transitioning student's request to be addressed by a new name and with gender-neutral pronouns.
Enoch's detention was up for review today, but without a commitment from him to stay away from the school if he is released, he was taken back to Mountjoy Prison.
The order was made in his absence after he and other members of his family had to be removed by the court for repeatedly interrupting the judge.
