Europe's most active volcano, Mount Etna is continuing its series of recent eruptions.

A new crater has sent streams of lava into the air with the latest reaching a height of nearly 3,000 metres.

Experts say they are not a danger to the local population in the Sicilian town of Catania that is situated beneath the volcano.
