The ESRI research shows they're 7 times more likely to report discrimination when they're looking for a job.
The study from the ESRI and the Equality Authority found that black Africans living in Ireland are more likely to be unemployed and report work discrimination than Irish people.
They're 7 times more likely to report discrimination when they're looking for a job - and when they get one, they're nearly 7 times more likely to report descrimination when in that environment.
Figures from 2010 show that with an unemployment rate of 36%, black African immigrants living in this country are 4 times more likely to be out of work than their white Irish counterparts.
The study also found that white people from old EU member states have the lowest unemployment rate - at 9%, with Asian people coming second lowest at 12%.
