Coronavirus: 16 more deaths and 51 new cases in Republic
There have been another 16 coronavirus-related deaths in the Republic.
51 new cases of the virus have also been confirmed today.
A total of 1,561 people have now died since the outbreak began, while the total number of cases now stands at 24,251.
HSE to stop sharing COVID-19 test results with employers before telling staff
The HSE says it will suspend the practice of telling employers about the COVID-19 test results of workers before the staff themselves are informed.
It follows confirmation it had taken place in some circumstances.
Earlier today, it emerged that the Data Protection Commission is examining complaints about the issue.
COVID-19 restrictions could add '€15,000 to cost of new home'
The cost of building large projects like the National Children's Hospital could increase by as much as 40% while COVID-19 restrictions are in place.
Industry experts have told a Special Dáil Committee on the COVID-19 Response that reduced access and smaller workforces will lead to increased costs.
It has also been estimated the cost of building a house could rise by between €10,000 and €15,00.
Catholic primate warns large weddings unlikely for "long, long time"
The Catholic Primate of Ireland has warned that large weddings are unlikely to take place here for a “long, long time.”
On The Pat Kenny Show this morning Archbishop Diarmuid Martin also said communions and confirmation ceremonies would not be held until schools are fully reopened.
He said Church officials were carrying out a “huge amount of preparation” for a return to mass celebrations but admitted that the last thing anyone wants is to see people infected by the virus because they came to church.
Fears for up to 1,000 jobs at Dublin and Cork airports
Management at Dublin and Cork airports are looking to cut up to 1,000 jobs.
In a message to staff on Tuesday, daa chief executive Dalton Philips said passenger numbers at Irish airports are currently down 99% compared to the same time last year.
He also said the outlook for the rest of this year "remains bleak."
