Thousands of people joined student protests right across the country calling for action on climate change.
It was part of a worldwide push to get governments and businesses to make real efforts to tackle the crisis.
Millions of people took part in the demonstrations in around 150 different countries.
Court finds treatment of 'Hooded Men' by UK authorities amounted to torture
A court in Belfast has found that the treatment of the so-called 'Hooded Men' at the hands of the British authorities amounted to torture.
The 14 men have said they were hooded, beaten and deprived of sleep, food and water while being held without trial in the North in 1971.
They said they were also dangled from a helicopter and forced to listen to loud static noise.
Taoiseach says UK yet to put forward any proposal that can replace backstop
The Taoiseach has said he is yet to see any Brexit proposals from the UK that meet the same objectives as the backstop.
The UKs Brexit Secretary Stephen Barclay met with Chief EU negotiator Michel Barnier this afternoon as efforts to break the impasse over the backstop continue.
The pair are due to meet again next week.
Quinn staff urge groups targeting management to end "reign of terror"
Staff at Quinn Industrial Holdings have called on groups targeting senior management at the company to bring an end to their "reign of terror."
It comes after the company's chief operating officer Kevin Lunney was abducted near his home and viciously beaten before being dumped at the side of the road.
Police have described the injuries he suffered as "life-changing."
