Greens vote to go into government with Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil

The Green Party has voted to go into government with Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil.

It clears the way for the Fianna Fáil / Fine Gael / Greens government to be formed, after the other two parties also backed the deal earlier on Friday.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin is now expected to be elected as Taoiseach by the Dáil tomorrow.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan says he is 'beyond nervous' about any increase in foreign travel.

He was speaking after the Government yesterday announced plans to introduce 'air bridges' between Ireland and countries which have the virus under control.

While a decision on which countries will be involved won't be made until July 9th, Dr Holohan today said there are "many countries" - including in Europe - which wouldn't make the cut today.

Patricia O'Connor murder: Family members jailed for impeding investigation

Four members of Patricia O’Connor's family have been jailed for impeding the investigation into her murder.

Earlier this week, Kieran Greene was handed a life sentence for murdering 61-year-old Patricia O’Connor at their home at Mountain View Park in Rathfarnham in 2017.

Four other members of her family were today sentenced for their roles in an attempted cover-up of the murder in the days after.

Missing Belfast teen's backpack and laptop found during search

Belfast Superintendent Muir Clark, who has hailed the discovery of a backpack belonging to missing Belfast teenager Noah Donohoe as significant. He was speaking to the media during a press conference at Musgrave Street police station in Belfast city centre as the sixth day of the search for the 14-year-old continues.

The PSNI say they've found a backpack belonging to missing Belfast schoolboy Noah Donohoe.

The backpack contained his computer and book and was discovered following a call from a member of the public.

14-year-old Noah was last seen in a number of areas close to the Shore Road in the north of the city just after 6pm on Sunday.

Liverpool football club's chief executive has dedicated the team's Premier League victory to Seán Cox.

Chelsea's victory over Manchester City last night saw the Merseysiders win the League for the first time since 1990.

As the result of last night's match became clear, Liverpool CEO Peter Moore took to social media with a tribute for Seán Cox.
