Second case of coronavirus confirmed in Ireland

A second case of the COVID-19 coronavirus has been confirmed in Ireland.

A woman in the east of the country had recently traveled back from northern Italy.

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is working to identify what contacts the patient may have had to prevent further spread of the virus.

Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton arrive for Irish visit 

Britain's Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are in Ireland for a three-day visit.

The couple touched down at Dublin Airport just after 2.00pm on Tuesday.

A man has been jailed for six years for conspiring with others to murder a man in Dublin as part of the Hutch-Kinahan gangland feud.

Dean Howe, with an address at Oakfield in Dublin 8 was described in court as a conduit for people further up the chain of command.

After becoming aware of a plot to murder a man in Dublin, Gardaí put a surveillance operation in place and identified Gary Hanley as the target.

Cork DJ Neil Prendeville named on tax defaulters list 

A Cork-based radio DJ has been named on the Revenue tax defaulters list for under-declaration of income tax.

The morning host on Red FM, Neil Prendeville, has claimed his firm of accountants did not make the correct tax returns.

He said he was advised by them that all his taxes had been properly paid, and he was fully tax compliant.

IMF to hold "virtual" meetings in response to coronavirus

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced it is to hold "virtual" meetings as a precaution due to the coronavirus.

It is due to hold its spring meetings in Washington, DC with the World Bank for several days in April.

But IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva says: "Like everyone else around the world, we have been deeply concerned by the evolving situation of the coronavirus and the human tragedy surrounding it.
