Theresa May loses crucial Westminster vote on Brexit withdrawal deal
The British government has been defeated in a crucial vote on its Brexit withdrawal deal.
The revised deal was voted down by 391 votes to 242 in favour - a majority of 149.
Speaking after the vote, British Prime Minister Theresa May said: "I profoundly regret the decision that this house has taken tonight.
Boeing 737 MAX models suspended across Europe
A Europe-wide aviation agency has suspended the use of two Boeing 737 MAX models.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has said the 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX are suspended from European airspace from 7.00pm Irish time on Tuesday.
The EASA covers 28 European Union member states - as well as Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
School rejects claims of inappropriate activity by Alan Hawe
The school where murderer Alan Hawe taught has said it was not aware of any inappropriate activity by him on school grounds.
Clodagh Hawe (39) and her sons, Liam (13) Niall (11) and Ryan (6) were killed by Alan Hawe (40) in August 2016 in Co Cavan.
Alan Hawe subsequently took his own life.
Conor McGregor released after arrest in Florida
MMA star Conor McGregor was arrested in Miami, Florida yesterday after allegedly smashing a fan's phone.
The incident outside the Fontainebleu Hotel was caught on CCTV.
According to local police, Mr McGregor was leaving the hotel when the fan attempted to take a picture of the Irish fighter.
Stephen Hawking to be honoured on new British coin
British Professor Stephen Hawking is to be celebrated on a coin for the very first time.
The 50p coin is the first in a new series celebrating innovators in science.
It features a 'black hole' design, which has been approved by the Hawking estate.
