Today"s Daily Mail pictures the celebrity Chinese couple that Failte Ireland are spending €8,000 to bring to Ireland on their honeymoon.
Zhao Yan, a famous detective writer in China and his wife, Zhao Run Hung, a popular radio d.j. arrived in Ireland last week followed by a string of photographers, here to record their visit.
The hope is that they will give invaluable publicity to all the tourism spots that Ireland has to offer and to entice Chinese citizens over here.
On their trip so far they were introduced to Irish whiskies by specialist Padraig O’Sullivan at Muckross Farm in Co. Kerry, then shown how to make potato cakes in the stove, make butter and play the Uilean pipes.
The couple have been updating their fans on their trip using social media.
Head of International Publicity with Failte Ireland Ciara Sugrue said that they assisted the couple with their itinerary and hope that the coverage on many of China’s celebrity magazines will maximise Ireland’s image as a honeymoon destination.
