An investigation is underway after a man using fake blue lights attempted to pull over an undercover garda car in Dublin.

It is understood the man used the lights to direct a car to pull over in the Baldoyle area yesterday – only to find it was carrying plain clothed gardaí.

They searched the man’s car and found “a number of counterfeit items,” including a fake Garda badge.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
