Up to 20 families involved in the investigation into the alleged mistreatment of children at three creches are said to be considering suing the childcare facilities involved.

The Irish Independent reports that the HSE, who are responsible for the regulation of of creches, may also face legal action.

Links creche in Malahide and the Giraffe creche in Belarmine, Stepaside, both in Dublin, along with Little Harvard creche in Rathnew, Co Wicklow all featured in the RTÉ Prime Time Investigates Programme 'A Breach of Trust', which aired in May.
