A search for an 86-year-old man missing from Limerick has been stood down following the discovery of a body.
Paddy Rainsford was last seen leaving his home at Annagh in Lisnagry on Wednesday evening at 7.30pm.
He had left his home to attend a card game, but never arrived at his destination.
Gardaí and Paddy's family appealed for help in tracing his whereabouts.
This morning, gardaí said they'd ended the search for Paddy after a body was found in the Ballina area of Tipperary.
They said in a statement: "Gardaí are working closely with the family during this tragic time.
"We would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter."
