The family of a British construction worker killed in Nigeria have described him as a loveable rogue who lived his life to the full.

55 year-old Brendan Vaughan from the Rothwell area of Leeds was one of seven people taken hostage last month by an Islamic group linked to Al Qaeda.

He's believed to have been killed yesterday in what the British Foreign Secretary described as a "cold-blooded murder".
