Faulty brakes may be to blame for a Russian airliner sliding off the runway and smashing onto a road near Moscow, killing five people.

Investigators are examining the black boxes to try to determine the cause of the crash yesterday.

The dead were two pilots, a flight engineer and an air stewardess.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash.
