A pedestrian has died in a road crash in Co. Cavan.

The woman in her late 50s was killed when she was struck by a farm vehicle at around 12pm this afternoon in Killcogy village.

Her body has now been removed to Cavan General Hospital.

A post mortem examination will now take place.

The road is currently closed while Gardaí carry out a forensic examination of the scene.

Diversions are in place.
