As more thunderstorms and wintry showers hit the country today - Met Eireann says there may be snowfall in some parts of the country for Christmas Day.
However, Meteorologist from Met Eireann David Rodgers says snow is only likely to stick on higher ground.
"During the course of Christmas eve and into Christmas day there will be some showers across the west and north west of the country which may be wintry. There will be a mix of rain sleet, possibly some snow on higher ground. For most of the country on Christmas Day it will be bright, dry, cold but fairly pleasant."
