The first five senators have been elected to the next Seanad.
Two Fine Gael candidates, two from Fianna Fáil and one from Sinn Féin have been elected by the Cultural and Educational panel.
Former government chief whip Sean Kyne was the first person deemed elected this morning.
Mr Kyne made the quota on the 14th count of the Cultural and Educational panel.
The Fine Gael politician previously served as a TD for Galway West, but narrowly lost his seat in last month's general election.

It's the third he has won, having been elected a councillor, TD and Senator in separate elections since last May
The final two senators elected to the panel were Sinn Féin's Fintan Warfield and Fine Gael's John McGahon.
