Fianna Fáil say they will continue to question the government about where money from the additional pension levy is being spent.
This charge was originally set at 0.6% in 2011, and an additional 0.15% was added in Budget 2014 - bringing in a total of around €820m.
In response to a parliamentary question from Fianna Fáil, Finance Minister Michael Noonan said the money from the additional tax goes into the central fund and is not ring fenced for any specific area of spending.
