A fifth man has been convicted of the murder of Thomas Dooley, who was attacked and killed at a graveyard in County Kerry in 2022.

Michael Dooley, 29, of the Halting Site, Carrigrohane Road, Cork, was found guilty today of murdering his cousin.

Today’s conviction follows a month-long trial at the Central Criminal Court in Cork, where the jury deliberated for nearly 17 hours.

Deliberations will continue on Thursday regarding 42-year-old Daniel Dooley of An Carraigin, Connolly Park, Tralee, who is also charged in connection with Thomas Dooley’s murder.

Others convictions

Last Friday, the victim’s brother Patrick Dooley of Arbutus Grove, Killarney, was found guilty of murder.

On Thursday, 43-year-old Thomas Dooley Snr and 21-year-old Thomas Dooley Jnr, both of the Halting Site, Carrigrohane Road, Cork, were also convicted of murder.

Additionally, a teenager who cannot be named for legal reasons was also found guilty of murdering Thomas Dooley.
