The producers behind the new Grace of Monaco film starring Nicole Kidman will not be impressed by the title of Jeffrey Robinson’s updated biography on Grace Kelly.

The American writer has come out as a fierce critic of Olivier Dahan’s film, although his book now carries the same title as the movie and includes a foreword by Nicole Kidman.

Mr Robinson told The Green Room that he spent ninety minutes on the phone to Princess Caroline a few days ago and the family are not happy to put it mildly.

The author claimed to have seen the script before the film was completed and says it was full of historical inaccuracies.

“There are people who show up in the script who were dead at the time, the incidents that are described are completely outlandish..it also gets the character of Grace wrong,” he claims.

Jeffrey Robinson, whose biography was written with the consent of Monaco’s royal family said the scriptwriter should be banned from" ever owning a laptop and should be forbidden to ever type anything again.”

The film which stars Tim Roth and Frank Langhella alongside Kidman was slated by the critics following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The director Olivier Dahan has "embarrassed Cannes," Robinson told the show.

“He has embarrassed Nicole, he embarrassed all of Cannes, and he has certainly embarrassed the memory of Grace.”
