Earlier in the month, we reported a story about Jonny Benjamin who was appealing to find the man who approached him on Waterloo Bridge in London when he was in a distressed state and about to end his life.
The kindness the man showed by offering to buy Benjamin a cup of coffee, meant that he climbed back over the railings and went on to live a better life. But he never got the stranger’s name and wanted to thank him.
Six years later, the #FindMike campaign was launched and two weeks later they were brought together, when ‘Mike’ turned out to be a man called Neil.
Benjamin, who had a schizoaffective disorder at the time, is now keen to spread the message of recover from mental illness.
