A large fire has been blazing at a recycling facility in west Dublin since this morning.
Some ten fire engines are at the scene of the flames at the Panda recycling facility on Cappagh Road in Huntstown.
Dublin Fire Brigade have been at the facility since 6am this morning.
People in nearby areas are being warned to protect themselves from inhaling smoke.
Newstalk reporter Matthew Joyce was at the scene and had to move away from the Panda site “because the smoke is quite heavy and it seems to be covering a significant area within the complex”.
“The ten fire engines include two turnable ladders, two water tankers, two foam tenders and an emergency tender are on the scene, as well as assistance from Dublin Airport Fire Service.”
Dublin Fire Brigade has warned that smoke from the fire is drifting across the Hunterstown area due to strong winds.
Nearby residents are asked to take precautions if they are affected by the fire.
