An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire which caused extensive damage to a recycling plant in Cork.

The blaze broke out around 9 o'clock last night at the Greenstar Recycling facility in Glanmire.

12 units of the fire brigade fought for an hour to bring the fire under control.

Units remain at the scene this morning, which is being preserved for a full technical investigation.

No one was injured in the fire.
