Crews have been battling fires at two empty buildings in south Dublin overnight.
Five fire engines including a turntable ladder were deployed to a former religious order building on Edmonstown Road in Ballyboden at around 9pm last night.

The old Augustinian building, which has been empty for a number of years, was the subject of controversial plans for almost 500 apartments.

We expect to have crews on scene through the night and have received great assistance from partner agencies as we continue to extinguish the fire. pic.twitter.com/iBOxQmrXYJ

Dublin Fire Brigade says strong winds from the Ballyboden fire are driving smoke across the Rathfarnham area.
Three fire engines also attended a derelict building fire near Ticknock last night.

People who can smell smoke are advised to close all windows and doors as a precaution.
Fire crews were on scene through the night and have received assistance from partner agencies.
