The air corps is dumping thousands of litres of water on a wild fire in County Kerry.
A helicopter dangling a thousand litre bucket is flying over Killarney National Park where a blaze broke out several datys ago.
It is believed to be one of the largest fires ever seen inside the Park.
The Council have also warned of possible risk to homes in parts of the county.
Currently eight of the 10 fire brigade units in Kerry are committed to locations in Sneem, Kells, Portmagee, Dingle, Inch, and in the Derrycunnihy area of Killarney National Park.
Members of the public are advised to stay away from the Old Kenmare Road between Kenmare and Killarney - which is part of the 'Kerry Way' walking route.
Kerry County Council says the resources of Kerry Fire and Rescue Service are again very stretched with wildfires.
Units responded to 17 incidents in 14 separate locations across the county. Of these incidents 14 were wild fires.
The fire and rescue service is appealing to land and commonage rights owners never to engage in burning, without first notifying the regional control centre.
The service says human lives are being put at un-intended risk.
