LEGO is opening its second store in Dublin tomorrow – and the company is hosting a free kids' Halloween Ghost Hunt all weekend to celebrate.
The new store is located in the Blanchardstown Centre and comes just over a year after it launched its Grafton Street offering.
Marketing Director for LEGO Europe, Amy Pearson, told Newstalk visiting the store offers customers a completely different experience to shopping online.
“We have things like the build a mini figure tower where you can come and crate your own mini-figures, the pick a brick wall and we also have the biggest assortment of Lego sets that you wouldn’t necessarily find elsewhere.
“So, some of those sets are exclusive to our stores.”
About 15 jobs have been created at the shop, which is on level two of the shopping centre.
LEGO Europe Director of Marketing, Amy Pearson, says the company is excited to get started with store number two:
“We open tomorrow morning at 9am in Blanchardstown and really, similar to our Grafton Street store, Lego stores are really about providing a fantastic experience for children of all ages,” she said.
“So within the Blanchardstown store, you will find elements that you can’t find in other retailers.”
When the company opened its Grafton Street store, it operated a customer queuing system to deal with the expected crowds.
All customers needed a wrist band, with an allocated time, to gain access to the shop.
The wrist bands were distributed opposite the store each morning from 9am.
LEGO opened 155 stores around the world in 2022 and in 2023, there were a total of 66 of them in Europe.
London’s Leicester Square boats the largest store in the world, with an area of 805 sq mtrs.
