On the back of the Central Bank's announcement that banks will be able to lend up to 90 percent of the value of properties worth up to €220,000 to first-time buyers, we had took a look around Ireland to see what's on the market for that price or less.
The results were mixed... so we decided to see what you can get for that money abroad:
Pays de la Loire, France
We are starting out in rustic north-west France, where this eight-bedroom property is on the market for €220,000.
Located close to Nantes, this 17th-century house has a landscaped garden, and several lounge spaces.
Might cost a bit to keep it warm in the winter though...
Florida, USA
Heading State-side to Florida, you can get this five-bedroom detached house - with a private pool and billiards room - for €212,000.
Antalya, Turkey
Down on Turkey's south coast, you can pick up this three bedroom, three-storey villa for €214,365.
It includes a terrace with mountain views, a pool and a jacuzzi.
Haute-Vienne, France
At a significant price drop, this four bedroom mini-château in the middle of France is on the market for €149,950.
It has two living rooms, a games room, and a walled 'secret garden'.
Villamartin, Alicante, Spain
For a similar price (€149,995) you can get this detached, three-bedroom villa in the coastal town of Villamartin in south-east Spain.
