Five Ireland players are to miss this afternoon's Nations League game with Wales after a positive COVID-19 case in the squad.
The FAI has confirmed that a squad member tested positive for coronavirus, and as a result, the player in question and four other players deemed close contacts have been "stood down" for the game.
Kick-off at the Aviva Stadium is at 2pm, where Ireland are searching for their first win of the campaign.
The FAI has also revealed the positive test returned by a staff member prior to Thursday's Euro's game with Slovakia may have been a false positive.
Aaron Connelly and Adam Idah were ruled out of that game after being considered close contacts.
Two further tests carried out on the staff member on Saturday have confirmed no trace of COVID-19.
The HSE and UEFA have been informed of the result and the FAI said it will now discuss the issue with UEFA.
It also said that manager Stephen Kenny will "review his options" for Wednesday’s UEFA Nations League game in Finland after today’s match.
