Five men arrested in connection with the burglary of a shop in Co Monaghan are due in court later.
The incident happened at a premises on Church Square in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Gardaí arrived at the scene and discovered the shop front damaged and a large amount of property taken.
A follow up search was carried out and Gardaí stopped a car on the N2 a short time later.
The five men in the car were arrested.
A sledge hammer was found in the car and as was stolen property from the shop - including electronic devices with an estimated value of €50,000.
They are expected to appear before a sitting of Monaghan District Court on Monday.
