Five police officers have been injured in the North after they were attacked by crowds of up to 100 people in Newtownabbey.

Bricks and bottles were thrown at the PSNI in the Carnmulley Road area, and a car was set on fire.

It's understood the rioting happened when youths tried to remove Irish flags from lampposts and were challenged by police.
