Teenager killed in Carlow collision

Gardaí are investigating a single collision in Co Carlow, in which a teenage boy died.

The 16-year-old was killed when the car he was driving stuck a wall near 'The Nine Stones' Mount Leinster in Borris.

It happened at around 5.00am on Sunday morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí renew appeal over missing Icelandic man Jon Jonsson

Gardaí are renewing their appeal for the public's help in tracing the whereabouts of 41-year-old Jon Jonsson.

Jon, who is from Iceland, was last seen in the Whitehall area of Dublin at approximately 11.00am on Saturday February 9th.

He is described as being six foot tall, of medium build and with short brown hair.

When last seen he was wearing a black padded jacket.

Despite ongoing searches he has yet to be located.

There has been another massive win for one Irish Lotto player.

Friday's jackpot was worth more than €10.2m.

This latest win comes the same week a large family syndicate from north Dublinclaimed a mind-blowing €175m in the Euromillions game.

The National Lottery has appealed to all of its players to check their tickets to see if they have become€10m richer.

R Kelly appears in court charged with aggravated sexual assault

The US singer star R Kelly has spent the night in prison, after appearing in court charged with sexually abusing four people.

The alleged victims include three minors.

The allegations - which he denies - date back as far as 1998 and span more than a decade.

He is accused of the aggravated sexual assault of four women.

His alleged victims include three who were aged between 13 and 17 at the time.

Martin rule out 2019 election with “historic threat” of Brexit looming

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has ruled out calling a general election in 2019.

He made the comments in a keynote speech at his party's Ard Fheis in Dublin on Saturday.

He told delegates: "In normal times there would be no question about what should happen to this Government, but we have to accept the harsh reality of this very moment.

"Ireland faces a genuinely historic threat from Brexit and it has to have a Government in place if we are to have any chance of limiting its damage.
