Five teenagers are in a serious condition after a crash in County Cork last night.

Gardaí said there was one car involved in the crash on the R633 Bog Road between Redbarn Cross and the Youghal Road Junction at around 9L25pm.

Three teenage boys and two girls were taken to Cork University Hospital where they are being treated for serious injuries.

The road remains closed while Gardaí carry out a forensic investigation of the crash site.

Diversion are in place.
