An Air India flight was grounded on Monday after a pack of rodent stowaways were found in the cabin.
The rats were spotted after the plane landed in Indira Gandhi International Aiport in Dehli. The plane, which had arrived from Kolkata, was quickly evacuated and taken out of service to be fumigated.
Fumigation is required immediately as damage done to the wiring of the plane could prove catastrophic. A spokesperson for the airline said that they had probably arrived in a catering van, following the food as it entered the cabin.
The official said that it was a common problem: "This is a universal phenomenon... This happens across the world."
Comforting words there...
