Flights were suspended at Stansted Airport near London for several hours last night following an aborted take-off.
Eight people sustained minor injuries in the incident on Friday evening.
The Laudamotion Airbus A320 plane, which was bound for Vienna, was due to take off when a suspected engine problem was discovered.
Passengers and crew were evacuated using the plane's inflatable slides.
Flights were halted for around three hours due to the plane being stuck on the runway.
Operations resumed shortly before 11pm last night.
The airport said in a statement: "We are extremely sorry for the disruption caused by the incident, but our first priority is always the safety of passengers & staff".
Austrian airline Laudamotion confirmed the take-off was aborted due to engine issues.
The crew of OE flight from Stansted to Vienna(1.3.) decided to abort the take off due to engine issues and to disembark the passengers on the runway as a precautionary measure.Passengers were transferred to the terminal by bus and will be reaccommodated onto a replacement flight.

Stansted said this morning that flights are arriving and departing as scheduled.
'Small flash of light'
Passengers described hearing a bang and seeing a flash of light as the plane was about to take off.
Chiara Nardi, who was on board the flight, explained: "We saw like a small flash of light on the left of the plane.
"They opened the door, and we managed to get out. It wasn't panic or anything."
Another passenger, Sam Long, said on Twitter that those on board heard a 'loud bang' as the plane began to accelerate before take-off.
