A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that they have been informed by the Halawa family that their three sisters being held in a prison in Egypt have now been released.
The three Dublin girls in their 20's were detained along with their teenaged brother when they got caught up in rioting in Cairo during the summer.
A judge ordered the release of Somaia, Fatima and Omaima who were detained during a protest in August.
However, their brother, Ibrahim, remains in custody and is expected to appear in court in Cairo tomorrow.
