A former Cork City Councillor has been charged with 3 counts of soliciting a person to commit murder. 37-year-old Gary O'Flynn is a son of former Fianna Fail TD Noel O'Flynn.
He was arrested at his home last Thursday after an investigation by a special undercover detective unit from Dublin. The charges relate to dates between October last year and February of this year.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in court via video link next Wednesday.
