A former male model who featured in a Garda campaign has appeared in court charged with laundering almost €1.2m in cash.
The offences took place over five years at a number of locations in Dublin.
Mark Adams, who previously appeared in an anti drink-driving Garda campaign, appeared before Dublin District Court this afternoon.
The 39-year-old, who is a father of one from Castleheath in Malahide in Dublin, was charged with four offences of laundering money alleged to be the proceeds of crime.
The total amounts to just under €1.2m - €582,000 of that was seized at Dublin Airport in 2015, with the rest alleged to have been laundered at various banks.
Mr Adams, who was wearing a dark navy suit in court, was arrested this morning in Dublin city centre and made no reply to the charges.
He has been remanded in custody until he meets a number of bail conditions - which include giving up his passport and paying a €10,000 bond.
Mr Adams was granted free legal aid and is due back in court again next week.
