Four men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was struck by a car and seriously assaulted in County Antrim.
The 48-year-old man was attacked outside a pub on Main Street in Armoy shortly after 1am this morning.
Police said a car was then “deliberately driven on to the footpath” hitting the man.
It is understood a number of other people were also assaulted.
The car was found on the Colkeeran Road in Ballymoney at around 2:20am and four men were found hiding in nearby gardens.
They were arrested and taken into custody.
PSNI Detective Sergeant Wallace described the attack as “vicious and violent” and said the man was left with serious injuries, “including some to his head and face.”
He called for witnesses or anyone who may have captured footage of the incident to come forward.
