Four men are due before the Special Criminal Court this morning in connection with an alleged attempted murder in Dublin.
The arrests come after gardaí uncovered a submachine gun, a Makarov pistol, a revolver and a Beretta during an operation on Gardiner Street in Dublin last year.
The guns were seized by Gardaí investigating an ongoing gangland feud in Dublin. At the time, investigators said they believed they had foiled an attempted hit on a member of the Hutch family.
This morning, Gardaí arrested four men in their 20s and 30s in Dublin and Louth.
Assistant Commissioner for Special Crime Operations John O’Driscoll said the force, “continues in its unrelenting determination to bring ‘threat to life’ related investigations to an appropriate conclusion.”
