Four people have been killed and 16 are injured after a building collapsed on a beach in Majorca.
An area of the two-storey Medusa Beach Club in Palma collapsed at about 8.30pm local time.
Seven people were "very seriously" injured and nine were seriously injured, according to emergency services on X.
Firefighters were seen removing people from the building, with some being taken out on stretchers.
Footage on social media showed crowds gathered outside the restaurant as emergency services went through the wreckage.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said the situation was being monitored closely and the Government would be ready to deploy “all personnel that are necessary”.
“I want to send my condolences to the families of the deceased and my wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured,” he said.
Marga Prohens, President of the Balearic Islands, said on X she was "shocked" to hear of the building collapse.
No cause has been given for the collapse of the building.
