Four young people have died in a single-vehicle road crash in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, last night.
Gardaí were alerted to the crash at 7.30pm yesterday on Mountain Road outside Clonmel Town.
Both the driver, a man in his early 20s, and the three passengers, all teenage girls, died in the crash.
It is believed the teenagers were on their way to a gathering to celebrate their Leaving Certificate results.
Their bodies have been removed from the scene and taken to South Tipperary General Hospital for postmortem examinations.
Mountain Road was closed for examination and is expected to remain closed for some time today. Local diversions are in place.
Investigations are ongoing, and an incident room has been established at Clonmel Garda Station.
