A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in the Phoenix Park in Dublin last November. A murder inquiry was launched after a post mortem revealed Gerard Donnelly was beaten and burned alive.
Mr. Donnelly had been sleeping rough in an area of the Park known to attract homeless people during the winter months.
In the early hours of November 29th last, a patrol car spotted a sleeping bag on fire near the Wellington Monument.
His burnt body was found inside and a post mortem revealed he was alive when it was set alight. Detectives investigating his murder have today arrested a man (20) in the north inner-city.
He is being held at Finglas garda station where he can be questioned for a total of 24 hours. This is the fourth arrest in connection with the investigation.
Ciaran Moran (27) formerly of Camden Hall, Camden Street has already been charged with murder and is before the courts.
