Almost 200 people who have been at sea for 11 days are to be relocated in France, Germany and Italy.

Medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) says the three countries have reached an agreement.

It relates to 104 people on board the Ocean Viking ship and 90 people on board the Alan Kurdi.

Ocean Viking, which is operated by MSF, and SOS Mediterranee will disembark in Pozzallo, Italy.

Two pregnant women and 41 children under the age of 18 are on the Ocean Viking.

MSF says 76% of minors are travelling without a parent or guardian.

Michael Fark is MSF head of mission for Libya and the Mediterranean.

He said: "We are relieved, and appreciate that France, Germany, and Italy have finally found a solution for relocation of all 104 survivors on board Ocean Viking, and the 90 people on board Alan Kurdi.

"After days stranded at sea, and enduring horrific conditions in Libya and along their journey, finally they will be taken to safety.

"These prolonged, inhumane standoffs must not continue.

"It is unacceptable to strand people at sea, waiting days and weeks while European states debate whether and how to fulfill their humanitarian and legal obligations.

"It's disappointing that only three states were part of this solution. All European states must live up to their principles."

It comes just days after MEPs voted against a European Parliament resolution on rescue operations in the Mediterranean.

The vote was on a motion calling for European Commission to financially and politically support enhanced search and rescue operations.

It was in response to the continued deaths of people attempting to cross to Europe - with more than 900 estimated to have died or gone missing in the Mediterranean Sea so far this year.
