A 35-year old French man has been charged in connection with the stabbing of a man in Limerick City last Monday.
The injured party remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Jean Louis Fancony, with an address at Riverpoint apartments, Bishop’s Quay, was charged with three offences which include assault causing harm to a named man at Riverpoint apartments, Bishop’s Quay, on July 22nd.
He is also charged with possession of a 12-inch breadknife and with producing an article capable of causing injury during the course of a dispute on the same date.
The accused replied to each charge “I will wait” Gardaí told the court.
Mr Fancony was remanded in custody to appear before Limerick District Court again on July 30th.
